History & Snapshots
The History tab gives you a full version history of your discount configuration. Every time you publish, a snapshot is automatically saved — so you can always get back to a previous state.
What’s in a snapshot
Section titled “What’s in a snapshot”Each snapshot is a complete copy of all your discount rules at a point in time. It records:
- Date and time — shown in your browser’s local timezone
- Snapshot name — optional, set when publishing or edited later
- Comment — optional notes about what changed
- Author — who made the change
- Changes summary — auto-generated list of which discounts were added, modified, or deleted
Snapshots contain discount rules only — not coupon campaign codes, campaign history, global settings, or zone configuration.
Browsing snapshots
Section titled “Browsing snapshots”The History tab shows a table with all your snapshots, newest first. Each row shows the date, name, comment preview, author, and action buttons.
Click any snapshot to open the detail view, where you can:
- Read the full changes summary
- Edit the snapshot name
- Edit the comment
- Restore or delete the snapshot
Restoring a snapshot
Section titled “Restoring a snapshot”- Find the snapshot you want in the History tab
- Click Restore (from the table row or the detail view)
- The snapshot’s discounts are loaded as your current draft
- Review the changes, then Publish to make them live
Restoring doesn’t immediately affect your live store — it loads the discounts as drafts first, giving you a chance to review before publishing.
Naming and commenting
Section titled “Naming and commenting”You can name and comment snapshots in two places:
- At publish time — the publish modal has optional name and comment fields
- After the fact — open any snapshot’s detail view and edit the name or comment
Good naming makes it easy to find the right snapshot later. For example: “Black Friday 2026 config” or “Removed free shipping test”.
Automatic pruning
Section titled “Automatic pruning”Dino Discounts keeps up to 50 snapshots. When the limit is reached, the oldest snapshots are automatically deleted to make room. Pinned snapshots are exempt from pruning.
Bulk operations
Section titled “Bulk operations”The History tab provides bulk tools for cleanup:
- Delete selected snapshots — remove specific snapshots you no longer need
- Delete all snapshots — reset the entire history (your current discounts are not affected)
These are permanent — download an export from the Backup & Restore page first if you might need the data.
