Buy X Get Y

Buy a certain quantity but only pay for fewer. The classic “buy one get one free” deal and variations.

When to use this

Buy 3 items, only pay for 2. The cheapest item is free.

Click + Create Discount and pick the shape you want under BOGO / bundle:
- BOGOF — buy several of the same item, the cheapest is free. Starts as one set: Qty required 2, matching All the same item, reward Free items applied to the Cheapest N items… (1)
- Mix BOGOF — buy from one set, get an item from a second set free. Starts as two sets, “Buy these” and “Get this free” (1 each), with Free items applied to the second set
- Buy A, get B free — a trigger product adds a different gift product to the cart
For BOGOF and Mix BOGOF, everything is in the Rewards section. Under What has to be in the cart?, set each set’s Eligible set (a category, tag, attribute, list of SKUs, or any item) and its Qty required — for “buy 3, pay for 2”, set the quantity to 3. What’s the reward? sets what’s free
For Buy A, get B free, go to What triggers it? — Cart contains matching items is already ticked. Under Which items qualify the rule?, change the item set from Any item to List of SKUs and enter the trigger product’s SKU (or use a category, tag or attribute). Then pick the gift in the Gift product picker in Rewards
Save Draft, preview, then Publish

BOGOF frees the cheapest qualifying item by default
BOGOF and Mix BOGOF repeat For every full bundle in the cart — 4 items on a buy-2 deal frees 2. Switch Repeat to Once per cart only to cap it
Use Cart Labels to clearly show the free item in the cart
A BOGOF can show the spend-more nudge until the cart holds a full set. Write the message with [qty_left], for example “Add [qty_left] more for [discount_label]”. Mix BOGOF doesn’t nudge. See Upsell Messages
